VaultRemit Account Deletion Request
This page provides instructions for requesting the deletion of your VaultRemit account and associated personal data.
How to Request Account Deletion
To request deletion of your VaultRemit account and personal data, please follow these steps:
- Log in to your VaultRemit account
- Navigate to Settings by clicking on your profile or accessing the Settings page from the dashboard menu
- Scroll to the "Account Settings" or "Privacy" section
- Click on "Delete Account" or "Request Account Deletion"
- Confirm your identity by entering your password and any additional security verification
- Review the information about what will be deleted and what will be retained
- Submit your deletion request
Alternative Method: If you are unable to access your account, you may email your deletion request to privacy@vaultremit.com from the email address associated with your account. Please include your full name and account email address in your request.
Data That Will Be Deleted
Upon approval of your account deletion request, the following personal data will be permanently deleted from our systems:
- Your user account profile information (name, email, phone number, date of birth)
- Account preferences and settings
- Saved recipient information
- Virtual account details and deposit addresses
- KYC verification documents and verification status
- Session and authentication data
- Wallet balances (funds must be withdrawn before account deletion)
- Marketing and communication preferences
- Device and browser information
- IP address logs (except as required for legal compliance)
Important: You must withdraw or transfer all funds from your wallets before requesting account deletion. Accounts with active balances cannot be deleted until all funds have been withdrawn.
Data That Will Be Retained
Due to legal, regulatory, and financial compliance requirements, the following data must be retained even after account deletion:
- Transaction Records: Complete transaction history, including transfer details, amounts, dates, and recipient information
- Financial Records: Payment records, fee charges, exchange rates, and wallet transaction ledger entries
- Compliance Records: KYC/AML verification records and regulatory compliance documentation
- Legal Records: Records required for tax reporting, audit purposes, and dispute resolution
- Fraud Prevention Data: Information necessary to prevent fraud, money laundering, and other illegal activities
- Anonymized Data: Aggregated, anonymized data that cannot be used to identify you personally
Data Retention Period
VaultRemit is required by law to retain financial and transaction records for a minimum period to comply with:
- Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations
- Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements
- Tax reporting obligations
- Financial services regulations
- Dispute resolution and legal proceedings
Retention Period: Financial transaction records and compliance data will be retained for a minimum of 7 years from the date of the last transaction, as required by financial regulations. After this period, data will be securely deleted in accordance with our data retention policy, subject to any ongoing legal or regulatory requirements.
Processing Time
Account deletion requests are typically processed within 30 days of verification. During this time, your account will be deactivated and you will not be able to access the platform. You will receive a confirmation email once your account and eligible data have been deleted.
Consequences of Account Deletion
Please be aware that account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once your account is deleted:
- You will lose access to all account features and services
- You will not be able to recover any deleted personal information
- You will need to create a new account if you wish to use VaultRemit services in the future
- Any active transactions or pending transfers will be cancelled (funds will be returned to source)
